Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the students will learn:

- the conceptual and statistical basis of multivariate analyses such as discriminant function analysis, cluster analysis and structural equation modeling,

- the conceptual and basic statistical basis of multilevel modeling,

- advancements in the field of statistical techniques applied to psychological research, such as dominance analysis and using intraclass correlations.

At the end of this course, the students will gain skills related to:

- determining what analyses to conduct when presented with a research question

- conveying statistical results at a level of sophistication that would be accepted by a top journal

- using statistical software such as SPSS and EQS.
