By the end of the course, the students will:

- Gain an understanding of the status, position, and conditions of women in society and before the law in Turkey with a historical perspective during the Ottoman period and in Modern Turkey.

- Explain the positive impact of reforms on the lives of women in Turkey from the Ottoman period onward.

- Define the major acts, organizations, and agencies in Turkey that women initiated or involved to become active in public space and in working life to gain status and power to act on behalf of themselves.

- Define the contributions of women in Turkey to national matters and struggles, and their efforts to become active in politics.
