Course Objectives

Inflammatory pathways as essential primary defense mechanisms in organisms. The aim of this course is to discuss the importance of acute inflammation as a part of a health immune system, the biochemical pathways mediating acute inflammation and the specific bioactive molecules. Additionally, chronic inflammation and their effects on diseased states will be discussed. By the end of the course, students should have in depth knowledge on the molecular biology and biochemical basis of inflammatory pathways in normal body defense mechanisms and diseases etiology.
