Upon completing the required coursework,
- The students will be familiar with the fundamental concepts of optimization
- They will be able to formulate the optimization problem mathematically and knows the most important methods for constrained and unconstrained engineering optimization problems
- The students will learn the steps and outline of most widely used algorithms in engineering optimization problems, the pros and cons of different algorithms, and their suitability in different problem types
- They will be able to develop solution schemes to simple engineering optimization problems or to choose efficient formulations and optimization algorithms to solve their own problems
- The students will gain the ability to develop their own computer codes to solve engineering optimization problems
