By the end of this course, students will:
- describe and assess the conceptual and contextual evolution of cultural heritage conservation from antiquity till today;
- correctly define and use the basic terminology;
- show awareness for the different values of cultural heritage in different scales
- critically evaluate and compare philosophical arguments made by different scholars;
- interpret and discuss critically major texts on conservation theory and draw appropriate conclusions;
- analyze the leading paradigms and parameters in conservation;
- institute a critical framework as to the reflections of the conservation theory and principles on the conservation approaches and implementations in different countries including Turkey.
