By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the evolution of digital modeling and the core principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Operate BIM software (e.g., Revit and Archicad) to create, edit, and manage simple and multi-step building elements.
- Apply object-oriented technology to model complex building elements, including structural and MEP systems.
- Use BIM for simulation, energy analysis, and optimization of building designs.
- Understand the use of BIM in heritage preservation (HBIM) and apply appropriate techniques for representing historical structures.
- Create 3D representations and detailed visualizations of building models using BIM software.
- Assess the challenges, benefits, and costs of BIM implementation in real-world projects and construction management.
