Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• describe the development and explain the causes of political and economic integration in the EU during the 20th century
• understand the process of economic integration leading to the emergence of the EU in a historical context,
• define and explain the process of political and economic integration in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989, 
• explain the factors influencing the current development of European integration process and cricially discuss the main challenges
