Course Learning Outcomes

Students will learn the concept of noise and noise contributors of a transistor

Students will learn how to calculate equivalent noise of a given circuit.

Students will learn the effect of feedback on noise

Student will learn the concepts of linearity, harmonic distortion, inter-modulation, and learn the importance of these concepts on communications systems

Students will learn the practical steps in designing a low noise amplifier.

Students will learn practical steps in designing switches, attenuators, and phase shifters.

Students will get familiar with VCOs and PLLs

Students will get familiar with mixer, image reject mixers, modulators, SSB modulation and constellation diagrams.

Students will get an introduction to power amplifiers.

Students will be introduced to Signal Budget calculations.
