Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Choose suitable methods for solving a given ODE problem;

• Construct appropriate finite difference approximations for PDEs;

• Analyze the consistency, stability, and accuracy of finite difference methods;

• Write computer programs to solve ODEs and PDEs using finite difference methods;

• Solve challenging problems arising in mathematics and in practical applications from various disciplines.
