At the end of this course, the students will
- have an overview on the molecular structure of polymers, molecular weight and sizes
- have an introduction on solution thermodynamics
- understand polymer morphology, crystal structure, and crystallization theory
- analyze the solid-state properties such as mechanical, thermal, optical, electrical properties, etc.
- understand the principles of polymer rheology, compounding and processing of polymers
- discuss the effects of the structure and processing conditions on the material properties
