By the end of the course students will be able to
- calculate diffusion coefficients of components, and mass transfer coefficients in well-defined systems
- understand and calculate mass transfer rates/fluxes in well-defined systems
- analyze the thermodynamics of the mixtures at equilibrium contact stages and use the equilibrium data/graphs in corresponding calculations
- model single-stage and multi-stage contact equilibrium equipment
- distinguish between stagewise and continuous contact equipment
- analyze the performance of stagewise and continuous contact equipment
