Course Objectives

Students become familiar with the beginnings of Western Philosophy in Ancient Greece. They have a comprehensive understanding of the main philosophical problems and approaches from early Ionian philosophy to Socratic philosophy

They develop critical thinking in coming to understand the themes and the central problems of the period. They develop interpretative and argumentative skills in reading the course material.
