Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
- demonstrate comprehension of basic statistical concepts and procedures
- demonstrate the ability to apply basic statistical procedures and concepts to solve theoretical and practical problems
- identify appropriate statistical procedures for specific problems or hypotheses in educational research
- utilize statistical values such as e?ect sizes, null hypothesis signi?cance tests, con?dence intervals
- compare means (speci?cally the z-test, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple comparisons procedures)
- use correlation procedures (Pearson’s product moment correlation and beyond)
- develop simple regression models (i.e., one outcome and one explanatory variable)
- utilize basic categorical data analysis
