Course Objectives

1. become familiar with experimental techniques in immunology

2. describe how to isolate and/or differentiate immune cells of human and mouse origin to conduct in vitro experiments

3. understand the principles of flow cytometry and sorting

4. describe methods used to assess cell proliferation and cytotoxicity

5.  become familiar with induction of antigen specific immune responses and methods used to quantitate these responses (ELISA, ELISpot, tetramer staining, etc)

6. become familiar with Selected Animal Models used in immunology (manipulations, following disease progression and evaluation of results)
