By the end of the course the students will be able to
- analyze ICT and media formats in terms of their advantages, limitations, and integration into science and mathematics education.
- understands the theoretical foundations for instructional use of media and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), particularly computers, in math/science education.
- evaluate instructional materials for math/science education in terms of visuals and visual principles
- know the basics concepts of computer hardware and instructional software
- understand effective use of software tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, simulations, tutorials etc. in math/science education
- understand effective use of video and audio in teaching and learning math/science
- produce audio/video materials for teaching and learning math/science
- know the basics concepts related to distance education, online learning, and the Internet in teaching and learning science and mathematics
- assess quality of various teaching materials with respect to their feasibility and efficiency of media and ICT use for the applications in math/science education
