Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
• Analyze the protection mechanisms and procedural aspects of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), including the application procedures, admissibility criteria, hearings, and the impact of ECtHR decisions on national legal systems
• Evaluate the impact and implications of ECtHR decisions on Turkish law and the Turkish legal system, and the ways in which Turkey has responded to and implemented ECtHR decisions
• Examine Turkey's role as a signatory and ratifying party to the ECHR, and its obligations under the Convention, as well as the challenges and opportunities for human rights protection in the Turkish context
• Benefit from the practical insights and experiences of the lecturer, who has served as a legal expert involved in cases before the ECtHR at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and gain a unique perspective on the workings of the ECtHR and its impact on national legal systems
