The main objectives of this course are to make the course participants familiar with the general material properties and the relevant laboratory tests carried out to determine these properties. More specifically, the course aims to provide the participants with the knowledge of technique of testing, physical, mechanical and chemical principles involved in the testing apparatus and procedure, theory of measurements, variability of materials, and interpretation of results.
