The CNG476 course is a technical elective course for senior year undergraduates of the Department of Computer & Electrical/Electronics Engineering, METU. The purpose of this course is to equip our students with a sound understanding of the theory and practice of system simulation, modelling, developing, running and analysing simulation models of systems.
The use of computer based discrete-event simulations will be studied for the analysis of computer systems and networks. Probabilistic and statistical nature of simulations will be highlighted with applications to real-life cases. Design and development of C/C++ based discrete-event simulation systems, tools and assignments will be carried out.
