Acquisition of knowledge on the basic concepts and principles of disaster risk management of cultural heritage; accumulation of the basic knowledge and experience in order to be able to carry out first-level vulnerability and risk assessments for cultural heritage buildings/sites.

 By the end of the course, the students will

• know the basic concepts and principles of disaster risk management of cultural heritage
• understand the risk governance of cultural heritage in Turkey
• accumulate the basic knowledge and skills to be able to carry out first-level vulnerability and risk assessments, and to formulate risk reduction goals and strategies for cultural heritage buildings/sites
• demonstrate an interest in proactively mitigating risks for cultural heritage.
