The course aims at developing an understanding of social and cultural theories on urban phenomena in relation with the urban studies in architecture. The students are expected to;

• Acquire knowledge on social and cultural theories related with the built environment,
• Develop an understanding of urban phenomena with reference to these theories,
• Relate social and cultural studies with the studies of urban form, urban space and place.
