The objectives of this course are:
- To underline the necessity of studying turbulent flows in engineering
- To describe to which extent the governing equations of fluid motion are applicable
- To introduce how to investigate the relations between different physical quantities based on dimensional analysis
- To introduce how to interpret a mathematical expression to understand the underlying physics
- To describe what turbulence models aim at modeling and what are the advantages/drawbacks of various turbulence models
- To introduce fundamentals of signal analysis
- To introduce fundamentals of turbulence measurement
