The course will provide the students with the ability of characterizing microbial communities, detecting and quantifying specific microorganisms, determining the identity and activity of specific microorganisms in environmental samples, having a general idea of using individual environmental molecular techniques, describing and communicating environmental molecular techniques with other fellow engineers and scientists, designing experiment and selecting suitable molecular techniques for research projects, obtaining information needed for research either through books, journals, internet, or technical support.
