The students will be able to differentiate the merits and limitations of the basic types of mass spectrometers considering the type of the analyzers such as tandem, time-of-flight, quadrupole, and type of the ion source such as electron impact, chemical ionization, filed ionization, matrix-assisted laser desorption, electron spray, etc, used in different fields of science for different purposes.
