Course Objectives

The purpose of this course is to expand students’ skills in conducting and evaluating research in social psychology. Students will build upon the knowledge that they acquired in introductory research methods and statistics classes and gain hands-on experience in various steps of conducting research in psychology. These include critically evaluating empirical studies, designing a study, writing a formal proposal (literature review, hypotheses, and method sections), collecting data, conducting data analysis with SPSS/JASP or another data analysis program, writing a formal research paper, and verbally & visually presenting your findings. This course is focused on gaining critical skills for advanced level research methods.
