Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to provide students with the solution of the environmental problems encountered in the mining activities, the concept of health and safety, safety regulations and the main requirements to create healthy and safe working environment.

1. At the end of this course, students will:       

2. Know basic concepts, laws, and regulations related to occupational health and safety.

3. Describe main causes of mine accidents and unhealthy conditions and their consequences.

4. Evaluates risks involved in a mining operation, and

5. Apply accident prevention techniques namely, Job Safety Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis.
