On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

Examine the cultural, theoretical and aesthetic features of significant dramatic texts in Western  literature.

Add to their existing knowledge of dramatic texts, and gain a deep familiarity with many further works of drama deemed to have the status of classics in Western literature.

Show their ability to use their advanced knowledge of drama and related theoretical thinking in extended, individually proposed and written presentations and research papers.
