Students who have successfully completed this course will  be able to:

• Apply procedures for bench or laboratory scale experiments in full compliance with safety and other proper laboratory rules.
• Understand the underlying theoretical principles of instrumental analysis, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and chemical kinetics for these experiments.
• Use theory, data analysis and mathematical modeling approaches to convert raw experimental data into results useful for characterization and interpretation of the behavior of the model systems.
• Discuss and evaluate their results, and reach conclusions that are compatible with the scope, limitations and assumptions of the experimental procedure and the subsequent data analysis.
• Present their findings in an organized, clear and concise manner in written reports, in accordance with principles of technical writing. For this purpose, use figures, tables and diagrams effectively and with proper formatting.
• Propose variations in experimental parameters or design to the existing experiments. 
• Strictly adhere to the rules of safe, ethical, responsible and professional conduct during all stages in and out of the laboratory.
• Lead and function effectively within teams.
