This course will introduce the major concepts, approaches, actors and issues in peace and conflict studies in a multidisciplinary framework (political, social and psychological realms). The aim of the course is to develop the necessary analytical and critical skills and tools in analyzing conflicts, their root causes, and how to transform and manage them in a peaceful way.

By the end of the semester, students willdevelop the knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively analyze and evaluate:

-the theories of peace and conflict,

-the theoretical and practical approaches to conflict transformation and management with a focus on the role of states, IOs and non-state actors.
