Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will learn the concept of noise and noise contributors of a transistor
- Students will learn how to calculate equivalent noise of a given circuit.
- Students will learn the effect of feedback on noise
- Student will learn the concepts of linearity, harmonic distortion, inter-modulation, and learn the importance of these concepts on communications systems
- Students will learn the practical steps in designing a low noise amplifier.
- Students will learn practical steps in designing switches, attenuators, and phase shifters.
- Students will get familiar with VCOs and PLLs
- Students will get familiar with mixer, image reject mixers, modulators, SSB modulation and constellation diagrams.
- Students will get an introduction to power amplifiers.
- Students will be introduced to Signal Budget calculations.
