The course focuses on the study of language as a cognitive function. The purpose of this course is to provide a general orientation to how language interacts with some of our core system of cognition, an understanding of central themes in human language processing capacity, and exposure to the relevant empirical methods. The course also aims to guide students to take part in each step of language-processing research (e.g., generating a research question, designing an experimental study, testing, data analysis and reporting).
