Biomaterials, Bioengineering, Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Programmes or Departments all over the world introduce their students to the most recent developments in the rapidly expanding field of Biomaterials. In this course the aim is to increase the depth and breadth of biomaterials knowledge of the students who have already been exposed to the field through courses such as Biomaterials Bio 514 or Biomedical Materials Chem 568, etc., and therefore, to supplement the basic knowledge in the field with the latest research results in specific areas of the field.

The specific objectives of this course are

• to increase the awareness of the student about the biomaterials field,
• enable them to be more competitive with comparable international institutions
• enable them to choose research fields more effectively
• and to achieve these targets, teach them to analyze advanced information in specific, selected topics of the biomaterials field using publications (printed and electronic), media    and personal interaction.
