Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

• Identify and analyze the major ideological discourses in modern Turkey and their historical development

• Understand the representations of capitalist modernity, state, and the people in different ideological discourses

• Critically engage with the political and cultural writings of major intellectual figures from various ideological perspectives

• Examine the intertextual relations between different ideological discourses and their role in shaping social and political forces

• Evaluate the significance of ideological discourses in shaping the social, political, and cultural landscape of modern Turkey
