This course aims to  introduce students to the theory and practice of teaching young learners in the EFL classroom. We will begin by analysing the difference between young learners and other age groups, and among different young learner groups. In particular, we will explore the theories of child learning, child language learning and children’s learning styles and strategies.  We will examine a variety of teaching-learning activities, materials, syllabus types and assessment methods for young learners and how to use instructional techniques relevant for different young learner groups.Students will also become familiar with the classroom management methods and techniques to be used when teaching English to young learners.
