The aim of this course is to introduce students main themes and issues in politics and its relation with society. It presents a descriptive account and conceptual framework of the themes and issues related to politics and society. The course will provide students with an introductory knowledge on politics, political ideologies, state, democracy, power, civil society, nations and nationalism, political parties, regime type, representation and elections, groups, interest groups, social movements and global governance.
