This course intends to cover theory and emprics on the technology, globalization and labour market link. We will start by setting the stage with theory: how does technology affect labour markets? We will specifically look at skill-biased technical change and task framework. Then we will look at the recent evidence on both developed and developing countries. We will specifially devote several weeks on the impact of robots and AI on labour market taking the later discussion (AI and labour market) beyond economics.
