Students who successfully pass the course are expected to have the following knowledge and skills:
- Understand the definitions of the reference frames and coordinate systems, how to make a transformation from one coordinate system to another.
- Derivation the equations of motion of an aircraft.
- Definition of a trim condition of an aircraft and linearization of the equations of motion around the trim point; decoupling aircraft dynamics to the longitudinal and lateral.
- Stability analysis of the longitudinal and lateral dynamics of an aircraft, and stability derivatives.
