The students are expected to gain the followings:
- Have an understanding of the general principles, underlying assumptions, basic methods, application areas and challenges of Operations Research,
- Acquire the skills to identify and solve complex problems by applying principles of mathematics,
- An ability to formulate problems by using continuous/integer variables and linear/nonlinear functions,
- Be able to understand the characteristics of different types of mathematical models and the appropriate decision-making approaches,
- Knowledge of important properties of mathematical programming solutions, sensitivity issues and interpreting the results,
- An ability to deal with the multi-criteria decision making problems.
