By the end of the course students will: develop an understanding of the reciprocal relations between social organization and the urban society learn the major historical antecedents of urban sociology and learn the key concepts; develop a curiosity to establish the relationship between the current urban form and the urban society; develop a curiosity to analyze urban society in Turkey; develop skills to: analyze the development and social dynamics in urban areas, collect data in a given neighborhood and link the knowledge accumulated by reading the literature and by lectures to interpret the everyday experiences and observations in urban society.
